Pontardawe Golf Club
A hidden gem with spectacular panoramic views

Pontardawe Golf Club - Visitors Warmly Welcome

Situated in the upper Swansea Valley overlooking the small town of Pontardawe, this impeccably manicured, picturesque golf course offers a unique location for playing golf. The course is set at 600 feet above sea level and is semi-parkland. At just over 6100 yards and par 70, the course provides an excellent challenge for all standards of golfers.

The course has a few gentle inclines, but the walk is well worth the effort as the golfer is treated to spectacular panoramic views. To the North, are the beautiful Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain and to the South, the Swansea Valley, Swansea Bay, Mumbles Head and Bristol Chanel. All of these magnificent views can be captured from our signature hole on the 16th tee, known locally as the "pulpit" as you look down to the green 150ft below you.

Pontardawe Golf Club prides itself as being the friendliest and most sociable club in the area for all visitors. Facilities include the services of our golf professional, golf shop, practice range, club, trolley and buggy hire. You will be well looked after in the comfort of the clubhouse by our Club Steward and Stewardess, with their range of fine home cooked food, along with a large selections of beers, wines and spirits, whilst reminiscing about your round of golf.

Welcome to Pontardawe Golf Club

Welcome to Pontardawe Golf ClubIt is an honour and privilege to have been invited to represent Pontardawe Golf Club as Captain for 2016. Pontardawe is renowned throughout South Wales for its undulating, slick greens and magnificent views up and down the Swansea Valley with the Brecon Beacons to the North and Swansea Bay and the Bristol Channel to the South. The course is managed and kept in fine condition by our Head Greenkeeper, Jamie Probert and his team of ground staff.

Within the traditional clubhouse you will receive a warm and hospitable welcome from staff and members alike. We offer a wide range of drink and food which can be served, if you wish, in our separate, upstairs restaurant, or for a more relaxed "apres round" chat in either of our ground floor bars.

My Captains Charity, this year, is the Alzeimers Society and I hope that members and visitors will help me to raise funds for this worthy cause. We hold many fund raising events throughout the season, details of which can be found on this website.

I would like to wish our Lady Captain, Ann James and the Ladies Section, best wishes for the season and, in closing, the best of luck to all members of and visitors to Pontardawe Golf Club

Edward Morgan, Captain, 2016
