Even though the weather was quite inclement for the whole of captains week , it didn't dampen the spirits of the members and guests who turned out in force to support a very popular 2015 Club Captain Meirion Davies.

The Vice Captain Eddy Morgan opened the proceedings and by thanking members, ladies and gentlemen and their guests for their wonderful show of support during captains week, apologising for the weather during the week and then went on to orchestrate the presentations.

The 2015 Club Captain Meirion Davies followed the presentations with his closing speech for captains week, apologising for the weather during the week stating

" It doesn’t matter when we arrange the Captains week it always rains, the main thing is that everybody enjoyed themselves"

Meirion then went on to thank specific people and sections and said

"without their help captains week would not have been possible. There.are no losers at Pontardawe Golf Club every ones a winner "

Thanks to the ladies section for their support throughout the week and for the first six month of his captaincy. He went on to thank Margaret Bater for rallying the troops on captains day and serving an absolutely delicious meal for all our members.

Thanks to the bar staff, especially Brad and Collette, for serving all our members and guests with fine beers and keeping us just as wet inside as it was outside and helping create a great ambiance within the club.

Thanks to the Jamie Probert and his ground staff for keeping the course in excellent condition not only for his captaincy but for the last couple of years, and commented on how the course is getting better every year and that is only down to the commitment of the ground staff under the leadership of Jamie.

Thanks to the Natalie Dyment-Jones for her input of what prizes he should get and also the collection and payment and then joked,
"Don’t tell her husband Conrad Dyment-Jones"

Thanks to the Conrad Dyment-Jones for organising his week and said it had been a great help and made his week so easy.

Thanks to the committee and Vice Captain Eddy Morgan for all their support so far in his captains year.

There was a special thank you to the vice captain for his support and helping with the speeches and presentation. He then congratulated Eddy on his usual immaculate attire, but also for wearing

"an absolutely bobby dazzling pair of ones and twos" (shoes)

Meirion closed the official proceedings by thanking the members for supporting him as captain and also for supporting his captains charity during the first half of his captains year and invited everyone sit back and enjoy the evening's entertainment.
