The Weather never stops the fun at Pontardawe Golf Club.
Yet again the Christmas competition topped off the festive golfing season with some great golfing performances, laughter and merriment.
Kathy Mcgibney put an absolutely terrific scorecard together amassing 31pts over 14 holes to hold off the field and win the competition on a count back from Nigel Phillips in what can only be described as atrocious weather conditions.
As per usual the festive cheer was put into full swing by members playing golf in fancy dress, on times it must have been difficult not to laugh whilst watching the likes of Shreck, pirates, donkeys fairies, and all sorts of cartoon animals swinging a golf club. There's normally one idiot in every village, how lucky we are at Pontardawe to have so many in one small village. Absolutely priceless, Well done to all that entered and created so much enjoyment for so many.
There was some superb rock music to suit all tastes by local group "The Bad Things" The drummer Keith Owen just happens to be a member at Pontardawe Golf Club and we can highly recommend the entertainment provided.
Judith Williams looked after the proceedings in fine style and was assisted with the raffle by the club vice captain Eddy Morgan. All this was followed by a Karaoke and even more beverages.
A big thanks to all the staff and organisers, but thanks most of all to the members for making it such a great day.
"Come rain or shine you'll always enjoy yourself at Pontardawe Golf Club"
