Nell May Connick Golf Fundraiser

Tuesday 4th of October 2016 14:43

On Friday 30th September Pontardawe Golf Club hosted a fundraising day for the wonderful Nell May Connick.

At 7:30 am the club started to fill up rather quickly with people from all over the county (and visitors from Gloucester) by 9am the club house was full.... with outstanding, generous and kind hearted people who showed up in force to support this amazing little girl Nell and the Connick Family.

All members and visitors were greeted by the bar and kitchen staff and of course Mr Conrad Dyment-Jones and Mr Alan (Kango) Lewis on the front desk, you could say everyone was more than happy to buy a raffle ticket and Nell's wrist bands when they saw those two gentlemen.

The organisers and staff had already set up the auction lots, for people to view and bid before they went out as interest was very high. (List of items to follow)

The help and support the day had from members, visitors, committee, friends, family was simply out of this World, to name them all would take around 2 days. To everyone that helped, supported, turned up, sponsored, anything at all, we would like to thank you all very, very much indeed.

By 3:30 pm the last team had teed off the first. An outstanding

51 teams turned up and played, a truly unbelievable amount of people.

The day sailed by without a hitch, not forgetting it was packed with laughter, enjoyment, love and support, which was so clear to see by all.

Astonishingly, at around 8:15pm the last two teams were seen (only by their torches) walking up the 18th fairway.

The entertainment for the evening started off with Mr Robert Glover followed by The Flicks and No Direction It was an absolutely amazing few hours full of laughter, music and great singing , we really cannot thank you all enough.

The presentation was done by Mr Conrad Dyment-Jones, Mr Alun Evans (Club President) and Mr David Connick (Nell's Father)
