Sunday Didly away day at Cottrell Park

Once again the popular Sunday Didly away day trip proves to be a resounding success.

The Sunday Didly has been running for many years and continues to go from strength to strength, with new members joining to play golf and the fun that goes with it every Sunday. They meet in the bar rain or shine every Sunday and a rolling draw takes place to see who's playing with who. They pay two pounds a week and we pay out a small cash prize for the winner.

The Didly rules may seem a bit harsh, If two people tie there is no count back and no pay out the money stays in the kitty, If you win, you're dropped 1 shot, if you break your handicap you're dropped 1 shot. So win and break your handicap you're down 2 shots. Best of all you're handicap doesn't go back up if you have a bad round. This is done to boost the kitty and give everybody a chance of winning during the year.

The kitty is then used for a free away day at a different course, bus food and the golf all paid for.

This years away day was at Cottrrel Park. What a great society venue, the set up, the welcome, the food and the course was second to none and 24 of the Sunday Didly golfers all enjoyed, although, some were a bit worst for ware by the end of proceedings but they did comment, from what they could remember it was a great day.

The Sunday Didly members are now looking forward to our next away day golfing trip

If anybody wants to join the Sunday Didly just turn up in the bar any Sunday at 11.00am
