What a day ! Over £2500 raised for the "Pontardawe Junior Section" in the "Instrument Classic Open Day" on Friday August 23rd

The charity golf day was again extremely well supported, with 36 teams of 3 entering and enjoying a mainly sunny day with just the odd shower that didn't dampen the enthusiasm to score well.

Thanks to our head green keeper, Jamie Probert and his team the course was in immaculate condition, with some difficult pin positions keeping everybody thinking about their approach shots and putts.

Due to the hard work of the club captain Alan Lewis, the immediate past captain Conrad Jones, the committee, the club steward and his wife, the day was an outstanding success.

A special thanks must go to Craig Davies and his lovely wife Julie for organising this terrific event and working tirelessly to make this charity day one of the highlights of the Pontardawe Golf Club calendar.

Pontardawe Golf Club has a very strong junior section. The juniors are the future of the club and the funds raised will be used wisely to continue strengthening that section. It's very difficult to thank Craig and Julie enough for organising the day in support of the juniors.

The club is already looking forward to next year's event

The format of the day was Stableford Teams of 3, the best 2 scores on each hole, combined with an individual singles competition. The prize table was second to none and there were prizes for the top 5 teams and the top 20 singles players along with numerous other prizes.
