 THE JOHN HARTSON FOUNDATION
***
The John Hartson Foundation was set up following ex-Wales, Arsenal and Celtic star John's life-threatening battle with testicular cancer which spread to his lungs and brain. John wanted to use his profile as a former top-flight sportsman to raise awareness of the signs of testicular cancer and encourage men to visit their doctor immediately if they have any worries. That's why he's urging supporters to ‘Grab Life By The Balls' and not only check themselves but get involved in fundraising for the Foundation.

The Foundation also provides support to people with cancer and their families. One of the first organisations to benefit from a donation was the Maggie's cancer caring centre in Swansea.

John said: "I'd like to thank Club Captain Alan Lewis and everyone from Pontardawe Golf Club who is taking part in the charity day for my Foundation"

As well as raising funds, your event will hopefully help raise awareness of testicular cancer and the importance of getting checked if you have any lumps or bumps which you are worried about If so, please visit your GP as soon as possible, as if you leave it as I did, it could cost you your life.

"Our flagship event next year is the BraveHart Ben Nevis Challenge and I'd love to see some of you there. So go on ‘Grab Life By The Balls' and join us!

"Thank you again for your support and have a great day."

Registration for the BraveHart Ben Nevis Challenge 2014 opens soon.
